Finding and hiring cleaners who are professional and trustworthy has always been a challenge. Most people hire cleaners based on word of mouth only to end up with unreliable service and unregulated prices. Many also skip necessary protocols, such as background verification which can be unsafe.

Like other apps that list a variety of services, an on demand service app development for cleaning services is also needed. U-Rest is an app that provides a platform to hire reliable cleaning services with just a few clicks. Be it an apartment or office, U-Rest takes care of all your cleaning requirements.

This app is currently operational in the Bahamas and allows users to book cleaning services at affordable prices. To get started, users just need to create a profile and set their location. They can then book their required cleaning services from the services tab.

From deep cleaning of rooms to cleaning of refrigerators, all cleaning services are available on this app. Based on their requirements, users can add services to the cart and create their own packages.

All the tasks from the verification to onboarding are taken care of by the admin. The admin will assign a cleaner based on the location and availability. Once the cleaner is assigned, users get a confirmation notification.

U-Rest contains solutions to several problems that come with hiring independent cleaners. Users don’t need to worry about hiring unverified service providers or being overcharged. Every listed service provider goes through a background check, and the service charges are pre-determined. With an easy user interface and dedicated support channels, this on demand service app development was focused on enabling users to enjoy doorstep cleaning services without any hassle.

Admin Panel

This feature is accessible to the admins from where they can see the list of available cleaners, assign tasks, and add new cleaners.

Challenges

Challenge #1:

Adding Locations

The app is location-based and currently functions only in the Bahamas. As the serviceable area of the app expands, it requires a feasible option to update the map and add new locations.

Solution:

While working on this on demand service app development, we ensured that the map is linked to a map library called Mapbox which makes creating zones a cakewalk. So, instead of manually coding in the locations each time, the admin now can easily sketch out the zone in the map and the zone is created in no time. Whenever our app services a new location, the admin can create the zone, and it will be automatically added to the map.

Challenge #2:

Service Provider Management

Our app contains many service providers who are assigned tasks by the admin. A proper system is required to manage and keep track of the service providers as well as booking allocations.

Solution:

The admin has access to an organized database in the admin panel which contains a record with all the details of each service provider and the number of tasks assigned to them. This eliminates chances of redundancy caused due to manual data entry and saves admin from assigning multiple bookings of the same time to one cleaner. The strategically designed interface allows the admin to take action on each cleaner from a single page. They can manually mark a task complete, assign a booking, or cancel a booking from the service provider screen. This way, we eased the path for scalability and organized service through our on demand service app development.

Challenge #3:

Dashboard

To ensure a seamless user experience, the admin needs to keep track of various parameters so that the admin can get an idea of users app usage patterns and can fix any issues immediately.

Solution:

The admin panel has a dashboard that regularly tracks the total number of bookings, number of service providers on the app, number of users, and the total monthly revenue. With relevant graphs and charts, we made it easy to look at the numbers in the app for the admin.

Challenge #4:

Notifications

Often, users lose important information in a sea of notifications, especially if they swipe a notification out without attentively looking at it. It was crucial for our on demand service app development to provide an alternative method to access the app notification that improves the user experience.

Solution:

Our app has a separate notification tab where every notification sent by the app is saved. Users can always go back and view those saved notifications at any time.
